국내은행의 혼잡도(congestion)측정 = Measuring Congestion in Korean Banks

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study estimated the size of congestion and the degree of scale economies for the Korean banks from 2007 to 2011 by SBM model. We used three inputs such as number employees, fixed assets and deposits, and two inputs such as loans and securities. The results show that 14 out of 39 DMUs were found to be congested in the number of employees, the fixed assets and the deposits. In addition, we added net profit to the outputs, and measured congestion. Congestions were identified in the number of employees and the fixed assets in the model but congestion did not occur in the deposits. The congestions indicate that the banks have problems in managing resources.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 Tone과 Sahoo의 모형에 의하여 국내 은행들을 대상으로 2007년부터 2011년까지 5년 동안의 패널자료를 이용하여 혼잡도의 크기, 규모의 탄력성, 슬랙을 측정하였다. 모형 (1)에서는 은행의 투입요소를 직원수, 유형자산, 예수금으로 하고, 산출물은 대출금과 유가증권으로 하였고, 모형 (2)에서는 모형 (1)의 산출물에 순이익을 추가하였다. 두 모형 모두, 상당수의 DMU에서 혼잡도의 비효율이 존재했음을 발견하였으며, 특히 직원수에 대한 슬랙을 가지고 있는 DMU가 많았다. 이것은 은행들의 인력관리에 문제가 있음을 시사하고 있다. 또한 민감도 분석에 의하여 모형 (2)의 혼잡도 결과에 대한 강건성을 확인하였다.
