      By grasping the research status quo of hotel management education, this study aims to explore and cultivate high-quality hotel management undergraduate graduates to adapt to the changes and development of The Times. The study introduces the relevant content of hotel management education from 1992 to 2023, which is divided into four categories: teaching and learning methods, internships, students’ abilities, and students’ careers. The study found that the unstable salary level and welfare treatment of the hotel industry led to the high employee turnover rate in the industry. If colleges and universities only train students to prepare for specific job roles, then students cannot reasonably plan their careers, However, if the school cannot cultivate students' ability to manage the hotel industry, college hotel management education will lose its appeal to students. This will have an important impact on the orientation and content of university courses. Therefore, undergraduate hotel management education must achieve two purposes: one is to train students to become comprehensive, knowledgeable, and thoughtful individuals, and the other is to cultivate graduates with high skills and strong plasticity to adapt to the development of the hotel industry. Although overemployment-driven courses have been criticized for not playing a proper higher education role, this eclectic approach will continue to be studied.
