IN the 15th chapter of Genesis, we are informed that God willing to strengthen the faith of Abraham, who had required some sign in token of the fulfilment of the great and incredible promises made to him, condescended to shew him, that that, which was above the strength of nature to accomplish, was not impossible to him; and that he had no need of the succour of second causes.
