국내지방공항의 운영성과 분석 (WLU를 이용한 DEA모형의 적용) = An Performance Analysis of the Airports in Korea (DEA Approach using WLU)

The privatization and commercialization of airports has moved forward at the global level, individual countries have begun to focus less on the public welfare aspect of airports, and to emphasize the need to uncover means of increasing their respective airports economic performance and profitability. Although there is a need for Korean airports to be managed in accordance with this global trend. In order to conduct an accurate comparison and analysis of the managerial performances of the fourteen airports, the WLU(Work Load Unit), a concept which integrates the two outputs of airports, namely, passengers and freight, was employed in this study. Furthermore, in order to overcome the limitations of conducting a financial comparison based solely on WLU, the DEA model was also employed to evaluate airport efficiency; moreover, the benchmarking method was used to establish the input-output goals.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 전 세계적으로 공항의 민영화와 상업화가 활발히 진행되면서 세계 각국은 공항운영에 있어 공공복리적 측면보다는 공항의 경제적 성과와 수익성 향상에 역점을 두고 있다. 우리나라의 공항들 역시 이러한 세계적인 흐름에 따라 공항을 경영하도록 요구받고 있다. 국내 14개 지방공항의 운영성과를 분석하기 위해서, 본 연구에서는 공항의 두 가지 산출물인 여객과 화물을 하나의 단위로 통합한 단위처리량(WLU, Work Load Unit) 을 이용하였다. WLU에 의한 각 공항의 재무분석을 통해 비용구조, 노동생산성, 수익성을 분석하였다. 그리고 WLU를 이용한 단순재무비교의 단점을 보완하기 위해 DEA모형을 이용하여 공항의 효율성을 측정하고 벤치마킹을 통해 투입, 산출물의 목표량을 제시하였다.
