This paper aims to help Korean students improve their English writing skills in a wide variety of texts. Once students become aware of the various problem-solving activities, they gradually and systematically overcome problems in the process of the writing of English. This study also concentrates on the skills, such as grammar structure strategy, and writing skills linked to topic and cohesion, that point the way to better writing instruction in teaching English composition. In advanced writing level, both well-founded linguistic system and socio-cultural system are essential in writing English effectively. By giving special attention to the main factors that make it difficult for Korean students to write English, three degrees of teaching methods are compared, with a conviction that this study will be helpful in overcoming difficulties in writing English.
