한국장로교회 100년 회고와 전망 = A Retrospect and Prospect of the Presbyterian Church in Korea over the Last 100 Years by focusing on the Redemptive Historical Interpretation of the 4 Presbyterian Denominations

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글의 목적은 한국의 대표적인 4개 장로교단(기장, 통합, 합동, 고신)의 성경 해석을 회고하되, 구속사적 해석에 초점을 두어 비교하는 것이다. 2012년은 장로교총회(1912-2012)가 설립된 지 100주년 되는 해이므로 이 글을 통하여 장로교의 바람직한 성경해석의 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이 글의 방법은 4개 장로 교단의 신학교 저널에 실린 글 중에서 구속사적 해석과 관련된 논문을 분석하는 것이다. 필자는 이 글을 통해서“구속사와 역사비평의 조화를 꾀한 것이 기장과 통합의 흐름이라면, 합동과 고신은 역사비평을 배제한 구속사적 해석을 추구해 왔다”라는 결론을 내렸다. 앞의 두 교단에서 구속사적 해석에 관한 관심이 약회되어짐에도 불구하고, 구원은 성경에 나타난 하나님의 계시의 핵심이므로 장로교회에서 이 해석 방법은 더 촉진되어져야 마땅하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this paper is to survey the biblical interpretation over the last 100 years by focusing on the redemptive-historical interpretation of the four major Presbyterian denominations(the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea[Kijang], the Presbyterian Church of Korea[Tonghap], the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea[Habdong], the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea[Kosin]) in South Korea. The year of 2012 marks the centennial(100 year) anniversary of the foundation of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea(1912-2012). The method of this paper is a comparative study on the various articles relating to the redemptive-historical interpretation which have appeared in the each of the seminary journals of the four denominations during this 100 year period. The conclusion is that on the one hand, the Kijang and Tonghap have paid major attention to the combination of historical criticism and the redemptivehistorical interpretation, on the other hand Habdong and Kosin have pursued the redemptive interpretation by rejecting historical criticism throughout their whole existence. Even though a decrease of interest in the redemptivehistorical interpretation has occurred in the first two denominations, this method should be promoted in all the Presbyterian Churches due to the fact that redemption is the core of God’s revelation in the Scripture.
