Today, lots of region cities in Korea come into operation of the street view improvement project. Among those cities, the center of city and the citizen is often visited commercial street through the improvement of walking environment to extend the influx of the population. The Commercial street is the base of the city life and a majority part of it. It is specially react sensitively from the demand of the society. Also the street building, this placed at a commercial street, havea particular characteristic with a category of business, traditional and so on. will be the problem of street identity including rivalry and discrimination with other commercial street. But, the process of today's rapidity westernize built a temporary and unformed street environment of cities which brings to ripe of capitalism.
However, there is lack of the specialty of local commercial street from inefficiency harmony with ‘making a street it feels like to walk' project conducting by Seoul Metropolis and local autonomy. For establishment identity of commercial street needs standardized settlement of street view with join the shopping street which has strong individual characters. It is for design integration. When walking environment improves by using design, color and material of harmony, it could expect commercial activities from increasing pedestrian.
This study is a part of 'making a street it feels like to walk' as a model of composition project by Seoul and an autonomous district 1 especially from 4 different commercial and business area as a subject. It shows to understand a problem of subject design integration from case study and propose a better plan for design integration. When street view improvement of commercial street project proposed design integration plan to apply design unite of 'Pusan city Gwang Bok St. street view improvement project'. This study's street view integration limits are unification of street view background and unity of sculpture. A definition of background in this study, it made a commercial street by shopping district. And this is for pedestrian and driver who are using this sidewalk and road. What sculpture is a street composition element of solid shape with street facility and environmental sculpture.
Unity of background proposed a plan of a color, a material, a plane shape. And a unity of sculpture suggested to a street facility and an environmental sculpture's color, material, and a solid shape plan. Street view improvement project in Gwang bok st. Pusan complicated in may, 2008 and now many pedestrians are using it. Therefore this study proves by research about a street view design integration plan of unity design satisfaction to a pedestrian, an environmental change of commercial street from street view improvement and design awareness about street view unity design plan.
As a result of this study proposed for a walking environment improvement of city commercial
First, a color of sidewalk and road should be a grey tone color for base background color and the emphasized part color use a pastel tone color which is suitable with grey color.
Second, a material of side walk and road use consistent material in general for unity of street view. For consistent repair of a part select a unlimited product material.
Third, a plane shape of sidewalk and road made curve for a definite pedestrian's safety.
Forth, street facility and environmental sculpture's color should be designed with a point color from strongly shows background of street view.
Fifth, a material of street facility and environmental sculpture combined with similar function facility.
Sixth, solid shape of street facility and environmental sculpture should be combined with continuity between a street facilities
