심상훈련이 취약계층 유아의 언어이해력 향상에 미치는 효과 = A study on investigating the influence of imagery training on developing language comprehensive skills of kindergarten children from disadvantaged background

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of imagery training on developing language comprehensive skills of the children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Among the low-income families in North Jeolla Province, 180 kindergarten children from low-income family itself, low-income with multi-cultural family, single parent, grand parents, and alternative home were participated in this study. Moreover, in order to clarify the exact affection of imagery training on developing language comprehension, 90 kindergarten children from better background in the same areas were also randomly selected as a control group. The results are as follows: first of all, according to pre-test, the children from better background showed significantly higher language comprehensive skills than those in disadvantaged background; secondly, the post-test indicated that the imagery training has a positive influence on developing language comprehensive skills of children from disadvantaged background; thirdly, no significant gender difference was reported; lastly, however, a significant age difference was reported and kindergarten children in younger age group developed higher language comprehensive skills than those in other ages.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 취약계층 유아의 언어발달 지체에 대한 효과적인 중재방안 모색을 목적으로 하였다. 이에 따라 취약계층 유아의 언어발달 촉진을 위한 교수방법으로써 언어적 자극을 제시한 후 해당 내용을 정신적으로 반복해서 떠올리게 하는 심상훈련에 대한 효과를 검증하였다. 연구대상은 전라북도에 거주하는 취약계층 중 기초생활 수급가정, 기초생활 수급가정이면서 다문화, 한 부모, 대체 및 조손가정의 유아 180명이었으며 이들을 90명씩 실험집단과 통제집단으로 무선배치 하였다. 또한, 취약계층 유아의 언어발달 수준이 일반가정 또래보다 낮다는 본 연구의 가정에 대한 검증으로 동일지역 내 일반가정 유아 90명을 사전검사 시 대조군으로 선정하였다. 본 연구에 따른 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사전검사에서 실시된 일반가정 유아와 취약계층 유아의 언어이해력 검사에서 일반가정 유아들이 취약계층 유아들에 비해 유의미하게 높은 점수를 나타냈다. 둘째, 심상훈련이 취약계층 유아의 언어이해력에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위해 실시 된 독립표본과 대응표본 t-검증에서 실험집단의 사후 평균이 통제집단보다 유의미하게 향상 된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성별에 따른 심상훈련의 효과 검증에서는 유의미한 차이가 보고되지 않았다. 마지막으로 연령에 따른 심상훈련의 효과 검증 결과, 나이가 어린 유아일수록 심상훈련의 효과가 큰 것으로 보고되었다. 본 연구의 결과 심상훈련이 취약계층 유아의 언어이해력 향상에 효과적으로 작용한다는 것이 검증되었다. 또한 본 연구에서 보고된 연령에 따른 심상훈련의 효과 차이와 언어발달이 이후의 문제행동에 대한 예측변인으로 작용할 수 있다는 것으로 볼 때 가능하면 어린 연령의 유아부터 심상훈련에 참여할 필요성이 제안되었다.
