남성 성역할갈등의 남녀 보편화 가능성 검증: 남녀 간 잠재평균분석과 등가제약모형의 적용 = Generalizability to Women in Male Gender Role Conflict: An Application of Latent Mean analysis and Equivalence Constraint model comparison between male and female groups

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the concept of male gender role conflict(GRC) can be generalized to women. To this end, we investigated whether the sub-factors of GRC lead to conflicts among women, and whether there is gender difference between the sub-factors and depression, sub-factors and self-esteem. The results of the latent mean comparison analysis showed that there was no gender difference in the latent mean values of all subscales: SPC, RE, CBWF, and RABM. In addition, Equivalence constraint model comparison showed that there was no gender difference in all path coefficients from all sub-factors to depression and self-esteem. This study is significant to imply generalizability that the gender role conflict scale can be applied in common without distinction of gender. The limitations and suggestions for future research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 남성성역할갈등 개념이 여성에게도 일반화될 가능성이 있는지 탐색하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 남성 성역할갈등의 구인들이 여성에게서도 갈등을 가져오는지, 남성성역할갈등 구인과 우울 및 자아존중감 간 구조적 관계가 남녀 간 차이가 있는지 살펴보았다. 잠재평균분석과 남녀 집단 간 등가제약모형 비교분석을 실시한 결과, 모든 하위척도 즉 SPC, RE, CBWF, RABM 각각의 잠재평균값에서 남녀 간 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 남성 성역할갈등을 구성하는 각 요인에서 우울, 자아존중감에 이르는 각각의 경로계수에서도 남녀 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구결과는 남성 성역할갈등척도가 남녀 구분 없이 공통적으로 활용될 수 있는 가능성과 남성 성역할갈등의 보편화 가능성(generalizability)을 제안하고 있다는데 그 의의가 있다. 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언이 논의되었다.
