과학고등학교 및 영재학교의 R&E(Research & Education) 현황 분석 및 프로그램 경험에 대한 학생들의 인식

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 과학고등학교 및 영재학교에서의 R&E 현황 분석 및 R&E 프로그램 경험에 대한 학생들의 인식을 조사하고자 하였다. 전국 27개교 과학고등학교 및 영재학교 소속 학생 569명을 대상으로 R&E 프로그램에 대한 인식 및 현황과 관련하여 반개방형 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 학생들은 R&E 참여동기, 필요성을 높게 인식하였으며, 새로운 연구 방법이나 기술 배움에 가장 큰 의의를 두었다. 학생들이 가장 어렵다고 인식하는 R&E 프로그램 단계는 53.1%가 연구 주제 선정 단계라고 응답하였다. 그다음은 실험 설계 및 수행단계로 22.7%의 학생이 연구방법과 실험기자재의 사용법을 익히는 데 어려움이 있다고 응답하였다. R&E 팀 구성은 학생 스스로 구성하는 빈도가 가장 높으며, 연구 기간 적절성도 만족하고 있는 것으로 응답하였다. 학교별 R&E에 대한 유의한 인식차는 없으나, R&E 유형별, 학년 간 인식차가 유의한 것으로 나타났다(p<.05). 본 연구는 R&E 프로그램에 대한 인식조사를 통해 개선 방안을 제안하고자 하며, R&E 연구를 지도하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the current status of R&E programs in science high schools and science academics in Korea, along with student perceptions based on their experiences. A semi-open-ended survey was conducted targeting 569 students from 27 science high schools and science academics nationwide. The survey focused on the students' awareness and the current situation regarding R&E programs. The results indicated that the students clearly recognized the motivations for and importance of participating in R&E, emphasizing the value of learning new research methods and technological skills. The most challenging stage of the R&E program, as perceived by the students, was the research topic selection stage, with 53.1% expressing difficulty. Following this, 22.7% reported challenges in the experiment design and execution stage, particularly in learning the methods and usage of research tools and equipment. Students responded that they most frequently formed the R&E team themselves, and that they were satisfied with the appropriateness of the research period. There was no significant difference in perception of R&E by school, but there was a significant difference in perception by R&E type and grade(p<.05). Through this study, we aim to propose improvement strategies based on the findings of the perception survey of R&E programs. This research can serve as foundational data for guiding and enhancing R&E research capabilities among students.
