MISS PHILLIS GLOVER, who made many friends during her recent engagement in Manchester, and whom we had hoped to see enrolled as the leading lady in a permanent stock company here, possesses exceptional advantages for the stage. The daughter of a family which for generations has been connected with theatres, she may almost be said to have been cradled behind the scenes, and has been familiar from her youth up with stage business. In person "more than common tall," graceful and handsome, gifted with abounding spirits and buoyancy, trained as a vocalist, and skilled in elocution, all that she lacks is experience to enable her to take a distinguished place in the roles of legitimate characters in which she recently played at the Theatre Royal here.
