탈식민주의 장소학습에 따른 학생의 장소 스키마 변화 탐색 = Exploration of Students' Place Schema Changes depending on the Postcolonial Place-Based Learning

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ‘학습’의 관점에서 사회과 야외학습으로서 탈식민주의 장소학습에 따라 학생의 장소 스키마가 어떻게 변화하는지 탐색하였다. 구체적으로 학생의 장소경험을 설명하기 위해 야외학습 전후로 설문조사, 워크시트 작성, 심층 면담 등을 실시하여 학생의 장소 스키마의 변화를 분석하였다. 양적 분석을 통해 집단별 장소 스키마의 변화 정도를 수치화하였으며, 질적 분석을 통해 개별 장소 스키마의 변화 양상을 살펴보았다. 분석 결과 다음과 같은 사회과 지리교육에의 시사점을 유추할 수 있었다. 첫째, 장소학습 방법으로서 야외학습은 학생의 학습에 효과적이다. 둘째, 야외학습의 효과는 장소에 관한 사전 지식이 많을 경우 극대화된다. 셋째, 학생은 야외학습을 통해 장소에 대한 개인지리를 공적지리로 전환한다. 넷째, 학생의 장소학습 경험을 분석하는데 장소 스키마가 유용하게 활용될 수 있다. 다섯째, 장소 스키마는 교육적으로 차이의 이해 방식으로 활용될 수 있다.

This study aims to explore how place schema of students varied depending on the Postcolonial place-based learning as the fieldwork of social studies, from the perspective of 'learning'. In order to explain place experience of students specifically, a survey and an in-depth interview were conducted and students were asked to fill out worksheets. Then, place scheme changes of students were analyzed. The place scheme change in each group was quantified using quantitative analysis and the individual place schema change aspects were analyzed using qualitative analysis. The implications for geography education of social studies extracted from these analysis results are as follows. First, fieldwork is effective in learning as a place learning method. Second, the effect of fieldwork is maximized when there are a lot of prior knowledge about places. Third, students change personal geography of place into public geography through the fieldwork. Fourth, place schema is useful in analyzing place learning experience of students. Fifth, place schema can be used as a way of understanding differences educationally.
