교육과정 이전 시기의 국어 교과서 속 고전 텍스트의 내용 양상 연구 ― <홍길동전>을 중심으로 ― = A Study on the Change of the Content of Classical Texts in Korean Textbooks in the Pre-Curriculum Period ― Based on <Hong Gil Dongjeon> ―

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 1945년 광복 이후부터 1955년 1차 교육과정 시기 이전까지 국어 교과서를 대상으로 <홍길동전>의 수록 내용 양상의 현실태와 그 변화를 고찰한 것이다. 교육과정 이전시기에 <홍길동전>이 고전 텍스트로 수록된 교과서는 총 8권의 검인정 교과서 및 자유 발행 교재가 있었다. 이들을 대상으로 조사 연구한 결과, 우선 그동안 조사되었던 <홍길동전>이 1947년 이명선의 『朝鮮古典文學讀本』교과서와 1948년 이병기의 『중등국어 4』 교과서에 처음으로 국어 교과서에 수록되었다는 주장과 다르게, 1946년 방종현․김형규의 『文學讀本』에 처음으로 국어 교과서에 등장하였고, 1차 교육과정 이전 시기에 여러 종의 검인정 교과서와 개인 자유 발행 교재에도 <홍길동전>이 수록된 사실을 발견하였다.
또한 <홍길동전>의 내용은 호부호형하지 못하는 홍길동이 가출하여 활빈당을 조직하고 나중에는 율도국이라는 이상국을 건설한다는 대강의 줄거리가 전해져 왔다. 국어 교과서에는 호부호형하지 못해 가출하는 소년 영웅의 이야기로 정착되어 왔다. 그런데 그 굳어진 내용의 시작점은 교육과정 이전 시기의 국어 교과서 8권 중 1947년 장지영의 『(가려뽑은) 옛글』에 수록된 <홍길동전>의 내용과 동일하다는 것을 발견하였다. 또한 1948년 이병기의 『중등국어 4』에 수록된 내용도 1947년 장지영의 『(가려 뽑은) 옛글』의 수록 내용과 동일함을 알 수 있었다. 두 교과서에 수록된 <홍길동전>의 내용은 1차 교육과정 이후국어 교과서에 수록된 <홍길동전>의 모태가 되었다는 사실도 알 수 있었다.

However, contrary to this fact, it was found that in 1946, the textbook of 『Literature Readings』 by Bang Jong-hyun and Kim Hyung-gyu appeared for the first time in a Korean language textbook. In addition, it was discovered that <Hong Gil-dongjeon> was included in other textbooks and individual free-issued textbooks pre-curriculum period Next, the commonly known <Hong Gil-dongjeon> was established as a story of a boy hero who ran away from home due to family problems in Korean language textbooks, with the general plot of Hong Gil-dong, who could not call his father his father and his brother his brother his brother his brother's brother, running away from home and organize 'Hwalbindang' later building an ideal country called 'Yuldoguk'. As a result of an investigation into the starting point of the contents, it was found that the contents of <Hong Gil-dongjeon> contained in Jang Ji-young's 『(picked it out) an old writings』 in 1947 from the 8th volume of Korean language textbooks pre-curriculum period were the same as those of Jang Ji-young's 『(picked it out) an old writings』 in 1947. And the contents of Lee Byung-ki's 『middle school Korean language 4』 in 1948 were the same as those of Jang Ji-young's 『(picked it out) an old writings』 in 1947. The contents of <Hong Gil-dongjeon> included in the two textbooks became the birthplace of <Hong Gil-dongjeon> included in the Korean language textbooks after the 1st curriculum.
