국제질서 관점에서 본 남북한 평화공존을 위한 통일교육 개선방안 = A Better Unification Education Strategy for Peaceful Coexistence between South and North Korea Seen from the Perspective Of International Order

국문 초록 (Abstract)

1990년대 이후 국제질서는 소련과 동유럽 사회주의권 국가들이 몰락하고 탈냉전체제로 전환되었으며, 독일통일은 탈냉전체제의 상징이 되었다. 이러한 국제사회의 변화는 미소 중심의 냉전체제의 해체를 공식화하였으며 G2 미중시대의 출현으로 이어졌다. 그러나 국제사회의 변화에도 불구하고 남북한 분단체제는 아직도 한국사회에서 남남갈등이 상존하고 있으며, 남북한의 상반된 체제와 이념의 모순된 상황이 지속되고 있다.
한국의 통일교육은 주로 정부주도하에서 학교통일교육과 사회통일교육방식으로 진행되어 왔다. 그동안 정부와 민간단체의 많은 통일교육 성과에도 불구하고 형식주의와 일관성에 대한 일부 문제점들이 꾸준히 제기되어 왔다. 향후 통일교육 개선방향은 남북한 평화공존을 위한 방향설정으로 설계되어야 하고, 미래 통일대비 중장기적 프로그램이 개발되어야 하며, 명확한 대북인식과 확고한 자유민주주의체제에 대한 민주시민교육과 국제사회에 대한 이해 중심으로 개선되어야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

After the 1990s, German unification has become a symbol of post-cold war system, as international order was changed into post-cold war system, with the collapse of socialist states including Russia and East Europe. Such a rapid change in the international system formulated deconstruction of the Cold War Era centering on ideologies, leading G2 to appear. However, in spite of the change in international society, in respect to the Korean division system, not only exists the South-South Conflict in Korean society, but also the opposition in ideologies and political structures between South and North Korea are still being continued.
Our unification education of school and society has been led by the government. Although the accomplishments of unification education the government and private organizations took the initiative in, it has been argued that the education had problems in forms and consistence. Further unification education should be designed for peaceful coexistence between North and South Korea.
Also I think that programs of the mid- and long-term quality for the future unification development should be based on nurturing democratic citizen with definite understanding toward North Korea, and on liberal democracy system enhancing awareness of international society.
