의심의 ‘한국’철학, 한국에서도 철학을 하는가? = Doubtful ‘Korean’ philosophy, do we really philosophize in Korea?

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대학에서 철학을 가르치고 배운지 어언 100여 년이 다 되어간다. 그런데 아직도 ‘한국을 철학화하는(philosophizing Korea)’ 일에 대한민국의 철학계는 게을리하고 있다. <서구유럽철학 = 철학>이라는 편견이 한국철학의 정체성마저 근절시키고 있는 것이다. 이런 상황에서 과연 세계철학의 지형도 내에서 한국철학의 위상을 찾는다는 것이 가능하겠는가? 그런 날이 언제쯤이면 올 수 있을까?
본고에서는 이러한 문제의식 하에 세계철학 내에서 한국철학의 위상을 (재)점검하는 기회를 갖고자 한다. 제2장에서는 “서구유럽철학은 서구유럽철학이다”라는 소절을 통해 서구유럽철학만이 ‘보편적 진리’를 추구한다는 내재화된 편견 또는 착각을 바로 잡고자 한다. 제3장에서는 서구유럽과 ‘다른 곳’에는 “서구유럽과 다른 역사-문화-문명-철학이 존재한다”는 전제하에 지역-로컬 철학(즉 ‘한국철학’)의 창달만이 현재의 서구유럽 중심의 왜곡된 세계철학의 지형도를 바꿀 수 있다는 주장을 펴볼까 한다. 그리고 결론에서 세계철학의 지평에서 한국철학이 가능하려면, ‘무엇’을 ‘어떻게’ 해야 하는지에 대해 몇 가지 제안을 하며 이 글을 맺게 될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It has been over 100 years since started to teach and learn philosophy in University. However, the Korean Academy of philosophy is still neglecting to perform “philosophizing Korea”. The prejudice of < Western European Philosophy = Philosophy > eradicated the identity of Korean philosophy. In this situation, is it possible to find the status of Korean philosophy within the topographical map of world philosophy? When can such a day come?
In this paper, I would like to have an opportunity to (re)check the status of Korean philosophy within world philosophy within this critical consciousness. In Chapter 2, I will try to correct the internalized prejudice or misconception that only Western European philosophy seeks ‘universal truth’ through the proposition that “Western European philosophy is Western European philosophy.” In Chapter 3, I will discuss the development of regional-local philosophy (that is, ‘Korean philosophy’) under the premise that “there is a history-culture-civilizationphilosophy different from Western Europe” in ‘different places’ from Western Europe. I would like to argue that it can change the topography of the distorted world philosophy at the center. And in conclusion, in order to make Korean philosophy possible on the horizon of world philosophy, we will conclude this article with some suggestions on what to do and how to do it.
