In this paper, we first define the logarithmic function logs x as the area of the region bounded by x-axis, and the curve 1/x between 1 and z if x ≥ 1, and the negative area of the region bounded by x-axis and the curve 1/x between 1 and x if 0 < χ < 1. We study properties of this function. Also we define the exponential function as the inverse function of the logarithmic function and investigate the laws of exponents.
