This study is intended to provide basic data for color adjusting techniques for interior space by surveying and analyzing the existing color schemes of a hotel lobby in Korean and one in Japan.
For this objective we have referred to records concerning colors of hotel lobbies and analyzed the existing color schemes in Korea and Japan.
The findings include the followings;
1) The hues are comprised of only warm colors, the values are high and the chroma are low in Korean hotel lobbies.
2) In comparison with color schemes found in Japan; the hue is as warm as that in Japan, the chroma is of the same low value as in Japan, but the value is lower than that in Japan by two degrees.
3) While hotels world-wide show similar colors and hues, private houses manifest great variations according to individual tastes.
