There is a growing interest in power steering pump noise which was mainly caused by pressure ripple. Pressure ripple generated by the wane pump is strongly affected by steering condition and dynamic characteristics of power steering system. In this study, Hydraulic power steering system dynamic model which comprises hydraulic and also mechanical sub-systems was developed using commercial software, AMESim in order to predict pressure ripple for various steering conditions Each part which constructs system was modeled and verified by experimentally obtained characteristic curves of each part. Using the developed dynamic system model, pressure and flow ripple and also system dynamic characteristics can be analyzed for various steering conditions. In order to verify the developed model, test were carried out with an actual vehicle. TIle predicted results by the developed model were a good agreement with the experimentally obtained results.
