명사 {어머니}의 형식과 의미 확장 = A Study on the Form and Meaning Extension of {어머니 emeni [mother]} in Korean

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 한국어 명사 {어머니}의 형식과 의미 확장을 인지의미론의 관점에서 탐구한다. {어머니}는 호칭어로 사용되는 어휘로서 언어 사용자 의 경험이 의미 확장에 큰 영향을 미치며 개인에 따라 매우 다양한 의미망을 가진다.
이 논문의 구성과 내용은 다음과 같다.
제 1장에서는 이 연구의 대상 및 목적과 선행연구, 이론적 배경 그리고 연구 방법을 논의한다.
제 2장에서는 {어머니}의 단일형식과 복합형식의 사용에서 확인할 수 있는 특징을 논의한다.
제 3장에서는 {어머니}의 원형의미를 설정하고 이를 바탕으로 {어머니}의 형식·의미 확장의 모습을 확인하도록 한다.
제 4장에서는 {어머니}의 유의어 자격을 가진 {어미/ 엄마/ 어머님/ 모(母)}의 형식·의미 확장이 원형의미를 중심으로 어떤 모습을 보이며 확장·사용되는지 살펴보도록 한다.
이 연구는 {어머니}의 원형의미 파악과 유의어의 의미 확장 유형을 확인하여 한국어 사용자가 인지하는 {어머니}의 형식·의미 확장 모형의 악을 목표로 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This report intends to dig deep into the form and the extended meaning of {어머니 emeni} the Korean word for mother from cognitive meaning point of view.
{어머니 emeni} is used as an address form. The user‘s personal experience influences significantly on the extended meaning and has various semantic network by individuals.
The composition and the content of this report are as follows:
In the first chapter, the subject of the research, goal and preliminary research, theoretical backdrop and the research method are to be discussed:
In the second chapter, characteristics that can be identified in the use of single and plural form of {어머니 emeni} will be discussed;
In the third chapter, the prototype meaning of {어머니 emeni} will be set forth and the extended form and the meaning of {어머니 emeni} will be confirmed based on this;
and in the forth chapter, how “the meaning and the form of {어미 emi/ 엄마 emma/ 어머님 emenim/ 모 mo}”, which are synonymous to {어머니 emeni} extend from the prototype meaning and how they are extended and used will be looked into.
This research aims to identify the model of extended meaning and form of {어머니 emeni} that is perceived by Korean users with the means of clarifying the prototype meaning of {어머니 emeni} and looking into the types of extended meanings of synonym.
