Rational consumption among Korean workers is investigated in this paper through a survey method. Variables are created by literature review and interviews with individuals who participated in the pilot study and survey. One hundred ninety-one valid responses are analyzed in this study. Statistical methods used include descriptive analysis to identify participants and decision level exposure frequency for 26 variables that represent a probability of unsound, unethical, illicit actions. The participants are divided into two groups. One displays a (relatively) high level of ethical behavior and the other a low level of ethical behavior as determined by cluster analysis. The mean difference between the groups also showed up in a t-test. Twenty-six variables are grouped into 7 consumption factors by factor analysis. Finally, binary logistic regression method is adopted to derive research models. The findings of this study concluded that consumer`s grouped, hedonistic consumption frequency is higher than that of an individual. Two variables are judged as illicit consumption factors from among 9 tested variables. Additionally, the two groups showed different opinions for the factors of gambling and `normal` consumption.
