외상경험에 대한 사회적 반응과 우울의 관계: 외상 후 인지의 매개효과와 성차

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 외상사건을 경험한 성인을 대상으로 외상경험에 대한 사회적 반응, 외상 후 인지, 외상 후 우울의 관계를 살펴보았다. 또한 연구모형이 성별에 따라 어떤 차이를 보이는 지 탐색적으로 확인했다. 이를 위해 만 19-29세의 성인 남녀 385명을 대상으로 외상경험체크 리스트, 외상경험에 대한 사회적 반응 척도(K-SRQ), 외상 후 인지 척도(PTCI), 우울 척도 (CES-D)를 포함하는 자기보고식 설문조사를 실시했고 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외상경 험에 대한 사회적 반응 중 정서적지지와 통제하기가 외상 후 인지를 완전매개로 외상 후 우 울에 간접적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정서적지지와 통제하기에서는 성차가 나 타나지 않았으며, 외상 후 인지와 우울은 여성 집단에서 더 부정적으로 나타났다. 이는 여성 이 남성에 비해 외상 후 적응에서 취약한 것이 단지 부정적인 사회적 반응을 받기 때문은 아 닐 수 있음을 시사한다. 셋째, 연구모형에 대한 다집단분석을 실시한 결과 정서적지지와 통제 하기가 외상 후 인지를 거쳐 외상 후 우울에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 성별에 따른 차이가 있 었다. 정서적지지가 외상 후 인지를 설명하는 경로는 여성 집단에서 더 강하게 나타났으며, 외상 후 인지가 우울을 설명하는 경로는 남성 집단에서 더 강하게 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구 의 의의와 한계에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among social reactions to trauma disclosure and post-traumatic cognitions, depression by gender comparison. In addition, this study examined how gender affects the relationship. The data were collected through a survey with 385 young adults in Korea whose ages were between 19 and 29 who had experienced traumatic events more than once in a lifetime. Participants were asked to complete the questionnaire composed of the Traumatic Event Checklist, the Korean version of the Social Reactions Questionnaire(K-SRQ), the Post-traumatic Cognitions Inventory (PTCI), the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D). The data were analysed using structural equation modeling. The research findings are as follows: First, emotional support and taking control explain the level of depression only through indirect path via post-traumatic cognitions. Second, gender differences were found in post-traumatic cognitions and depression. Women were more negative towards themselves and the world, more blaming themselves, and more depressed than men. However, there were no gender differences in emotional support and taking control. Third, the result of multi-group analysis showed that there were gender differences. Women’s post-traumatic cognitions were more affected by emotional support than men, and men’s depression was more affected by post-traumatic cognitions than women.
