AN interesting match was played at the Railway Clearing; House on the 17th inst. between the Combined Railways and the North London Chess Club. Mr. Knight captained the Railways, and Mr. Stevens the North London Club. No less than sixty champions entered the lists, and, I need scarcely say, fought like heroes; the result being that the Railways won by 13 to 7. Mr. Stevens drew with Mr. Knight, and nine others on each side followed suit.
