The activities and selectivities of 3 metal (Pt, Pd. Rh) catalyststics supported on a-alumina fiber in oxidation with methane and propane are studied. Pd-catalyst is the most efficient in methane oxidation, and the Pt is superior to others in the propane oxidation. Pd catalyst showed more than 80% conversion rate of CH₄, at 425℃ and that of C₃H_(8), at 400℃. While Pt catalyst seemed to have 10% conversion rate of CH₄, even at 500℃, and showed 80% conversion rate of C₃H_(8) at 200℃.
