유아다문화 교육: 인식의 전환을 통한 포괄적 접근 가능성 탐색 = Childhood Multicultural Education: Change of Perception through Inclusive Approach Possibility

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 유아다문화교육 분야에서 유아 자체에 대한 관심과 문화 생산자로서 유아에 대한 관심을 불러일으킴으로써, 그 동안 ``아주 작은 차이``로만 여겨져 왔던 유아와 성인의 ``생각의 차이``를 인정하는 것으로부터 진정한 유아다문화교육이 실천되어야 함을 강조하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저, 현재 유아교육분야에서 이루어지는 다문화적 접근이 가지는 인식의 한계를 살펴보았다. 다음으로 유아 및 유아기에 대한 성인들의 인식의 전환으로부터 유아다문화교육이 실천되어야 함을 유아기 또래문화가 가지는 교육적 함의를 통해 살펴보았다. 이와 같은 논의는 유아다문화교육이 보다 포괄적인 범위와 의미를 담아내는 것으로, 유아기 아동에 대한 진정한 이해를 돕고자 하는 데 있다. 또한 교육자들로 하여금 모든 유아들이 질높은 교육을 받을 권리를 가지며, 이들을 위해 무엇을 그리고 어떻게 가르쳐야 하는지에 대한 고민을 하도록 이끌고자 했다. 이러한 고민들이 결과적으로 교실의 문화를 변화시켜나갈 촉진제가 될 것이라고 보기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper argued that early childhood multicultural education should put its emphasis on the acknowledgement that there is huge difference between children and adult which once regarded as ``small difference``. To do so this paper tries to see infant as subjective being and as producer of the culture. First of all, the paper reviewed recognizing limitation of multicultural perspectives which was used in the childhood education. Next, the paper considered the educational implication of early childhood peer culture, thereby insisting that childhood multicultural education should be practiced from the transition of adult`s understanding about the child and childhood This kind of discussion, encompassing a broader boundary and meaning of childhood multicultural education, attempted to understand the infants in the early childhood in real sense. In addition, the paper tried to induce educators of infants into new concerns that all infants should be given the rights to an high-quality education and thus they should have new thoughts and minds on what to teach and how to teach them. This new thoughts and minds are expected to be facilitators in changing their classroom culture.
