학령전기 아동을 위한 표준화된 인지 평가 도구의 문헌 고찰 = Review of Standardized Cognitive Assessments for Preschool Children

Objective: This research was conducted to identify standardized cognitive assessments for preschool children and review general descriptions, clinical usefulness, psychometric properties, and standardizations in Korea. We expect that it`s easy to assess cognitive function for preschool children through the review. Methods: Papers using cognitive assessments for preschool children and published in journals for the last ten years were identified in PubMED. For the key words related to assessment, “assessment, evaluation, scale, test, inventory, battery, and measurement” were used. “Attention, memory, visual perception, executive functions, cognition, intelligence, and mental development” for the key words related to cognitive function were used. Standardized cognitive assessments for preschool children identified in papers were reviewed. Results: The number of standardized cognitive assessments for preschool children identified in papers was 23. The number of comprehensive cognitive assessments and assessments measuring specific cognitive area(attention, memory, visual perception, executive functions) was 11 and 12 respectively(attention 1, memory 4, visual perception 4, executive functions 2, and others 1). Most of them can be used by directly purchasing them, assess children`s performance directly, and have good reliability and validity. Standardized cognitive assessments for preschool children which were standardized in Korea were DSS-ROCF and CAS. Conclusion: Because comprehensive cognitive assessments and assessments measuring specific cognitive area can be used to preschool children in different age groups, it is important to choose proper assessments according to age and cognitive function.
