      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Jeju Island, formed by volcanic eruptions, is characterized by its poorly developed river systems and short watercourses. These geological and hydrological features have led to the development of intermittent streams, which serve as habitats for the endemic species Salix blinii. This study aimed to classify the vegetation community and investigate the ecological characteristics of S. blinii. Site data were collected from 15 locations, and 8 phytosociological relevés were compiled. Vegetation was classified following the traditional Z.-M. school methodology and analyzed in comparison with other stream vegetation types. A new association, Arunco-Salicetum blinii, was identified and described. The association is confined to rock crevices in intermittent streams within the subalpine vegetation climate zone of Jeju Island. Endemic to Hallasan Mountain, the association is subject to periodic droughts due to its disconnection from groundwater layers and experiences strong physical disturbances during rainfall events. These conditions have resulted in vegetation with single or dual-layered structures. The harsh environmental conditions also contribute to the low species richness of this association. Further comparative studies are required to determine its placement within higher-level vegetation units. This study establishes a foundational framework for stream syntaxonomical hierarchy system on Jeju Island and provides essential data for the conservation and management of rare vegetation resources. The study results suggest the necessity of continued research for the conservation of this association.
