Bayesian Estimation for the Half Logistic Distribution Based on Type II Censored Samples

In this paper, we consider the maximum likelihood estimations (MLEs) and Bayes estimations of the scale parameter sigma in a half logistic distribution based on type-II censored samples. However, since the MLEs and Bayes estimations do not exist in the explicit form, we consider the MLEs using Newton-Raphson (N-R) algorithm and Bayes estimations using Monte Carlo method with Metropolis-Hasting (M-H) algorithm. And we compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared errors (MSEs) and approximate relative efficiency (ARE) for various censored samples. We can know that Bayes estimation with prior parameter a_0 = 2, b_0 = 2 is more efficient than the MLE and Bayes estimation with prior parameter a_0 = 1, b_0 = 1.
