In now days, telecommunication technology grows up, so the requirements is increased by many users. Depending on the requirements of many users, wired internet service which provides high speed internet appears and supports a variety of data like multi media service at high data rates. As wired network speed is fast users are interested in the wireless mobile communication, requirement of mobile internet service is increased. Broadband wireless mobile communication technology for wireless internet service is researched by the many people, and 4th generation mobile communication technology (4G) is noticed. WiBro makes sure to provide the mobile internet service, but it is not enough to call 4G. One of weakness is a power saving function.
Because mobile station is operated by limited battery, broadband wireless mobile communication system must need the technology for using energy efficiently. In this paper, I analyze the basic sleep mode algorithm in WiBro MAC layer and propose the sleep window control method for increasing power saving efficiency in web-traffic environment.
