부모의 성취압력과 중학생 자녀 미래관의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

목적 본 연구에서는 초등학교 4학년과 5학년 시기 부모의 성취압력이 중학교 1학년 시기 미래관에 미치는 영향을 종단적으로 탐색하는 데 연구의 목적이 있다.
방법 이를 위하여 한국아동패널자료 중 11차(2018), 12차(2019), 13차(2020), 14차(2021)에 수집된 자료를 사용하였으며, 모든 변인에 응답한 1,115가구를 연구대상으로 선정하였다. SPSS 27.0 프로그램과 AMOS 26.0 프로그램을 사용하여 자료의 기본적인 속성 및 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다.
결과 첫째, 4학년과 5학년 시기 부모의 성취압력, 6학년의 자아존중감, 6학년의 전반적 행복감, 중학교 1학년의 미래관 간에는 유의미한 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 성취압력과 미래관 간의 관계에서 자아존중감과 전반적 행복감의 순차 매개효과를 확인하였다. 즉, 4학년과 5학년 시기 부모의 성취압력은 초등학교 6학년 시기의 자아존중감과 전반적 행복감 수준에 영향을 주어 중학교 1학년 시기 미래관에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다.
결론 중학교 1학년 시기 긍정적인 미래관을 형성하는 데 있어 자녀의 변화와 성장에 초점을 둔 양육태도가 중요함을 시사하고, 기존의 부분적으로 검증되었던 변수 간의 관계를 종합적으로 파악하여 경로를 확인하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objectives This study investigates the longitudinal effects of parental achievement pressure in fourth and fifth grade on their child’s future perspective in seventh grade.
Methods For this purpose, the study used data collected in the 11th (2018), 12th (2019), 13th (2020), and 14th (2021) year of the Panel Study of Korean Children, and it selected 1,115 households that met all the variables. Using the SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 26.0 programs, the study examined the basic attributes of the data and analyzed it with a structural equation model.
Results First, there were significant correlations among all the variables including parents' achievement pressure in fourth and fifth grade children, children's self-esteem and overall happiness in sixth grade, and their future perspective in seventh grade. Secondly, children's self-esteem and overall happiness had sequential mediating effects on the relations between parents' achievement pressure and future perspective. That is, parents' achievement pressure in their child’s fourth and fifth grade had effects on their children's self-esteem and overall happiness in sixth grade and thus negative impacts on their future perspective in seventh grade.
Conclusions The findings of the study imply that parenting attitudes that are focused on the child’s changes and growth are important in their formation of a positive future perspective in seventh grade. The study examined comprehensively relations among the variables that were partially tested and checked their path, thus holding its significance.
