시각적 드로잉을 통한 실존성 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대사회는 산업혁명 이후 급격한 산업구조의 변동과 그에 따른 경제성장의 결과로 물질적인 풍요를 누릴 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 자연환경의 파괴와 1,2차 세계대전을 통한 정신적인 혼돈상태를 겪으면서 현대인들은 정체성을 잃어갔다. 오늘의 복잡다양한 지식정보화 사회에도 이전 시대에 못지않게 사람들은 정체성 불안과 사회적 아노미에 직면하고 있다. 오늘의 현대사회는 더 이상 확실한 것도, 고정불변한 것도 없다. 모든 것이 불확실하고 유동적이다. 인간은 그런 상황 속에서도 무언가 합일과 화합을 시도하고 치유와 정화를 생각하고 꿈꾼다. 아마도 예술가는 그 치유와 정화의 중심에 서서 해결을 자청했던 사람이 아닌가 생각한다. 예술이 시대를 막론하고 가장 우선시 했던 것이 존재에 대한 사유였고, 인간의 실존성 문제에 대해 천착한 것이 아니었나 한다. 본 논문이 의도했던 실존성이라는 주제, 소재, 대상 역시 여기에 집중해 있다. 물질문명 앞에 놓인 인간 존재들의 실존성을 미술의 이름으로, 그리고 회화적 형상을 통해서 드러내려 했으며 또 이를 통해서 궁극적으로 치유와 정화의 의지를 담고자 했기 때문이다. 본인의 논문은 이를 위해 다음과 같이 크게 네 가지 영역에서 말하고자 한다. 첫째는 본인 작품의 이론적 배경이 되고 현대예술의 근간이 되고 있는 실존주의 철학이란 무엇이며, 그것이 의미하는 바와 또한 그 철학적 사유의 틀거리에 대해 살피면서 동시에 어떻게 회화적 표현에 의해 실존성이 말해지고, 오랫동안 현대미술이 실존철학을 이론적 버팀목으로 삼아왔는지를 회화사 맥락에서 살펴보는 것으로 “실존과 인체 표현”의 관계를 문제로 삼았다. 둘째는 본인의 작품과 밀접하게 연관되어 있는 표현의 문제로서 시각적 드로잉이 어떻게 실존의 문제를 상징과 은유로 나타날 수 있는지 그 구체적인 방법론으로서 “인물 드로잉”, “혼합 오브제”, “인물과 오브제의 유기적 작용”을 다루고자 하였다. 셋째는 본 논문의 핵심 주제인 “시각적 드로잉을 통한 실존성 연구”에 대해 본인의 작품에 한정하여 작품에 나타난 “인체조형의 실존적 의미”와 “시각적 드로잉에 대한 관점”을 작품의 내용적 측면과 연결시키고 이를 근간으로 그것들이 형상화되는 작품의 형식적 측면으로서 “색채와 화면구성”과 “표현방법과 재료의 선택”에 대해서 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리하여 마지막으로, 본 논문의 당위성과 시각적 드로잉이 실존성 표현에 얼마나 유효적절할 수 있는지 본인의 주요 작품 8점을 집중적으로 분석하여 실존성과 회화성의 관계를 증명하고자 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since industrialization, due to a rapid shift on industrial structure and the following economic growth modern society has been experiencing material abundance But, with destruction of natural environment and the state of the mental disorder through two world wars identity has been lost. The current complex and various knowledge information-oriented society also may become one of the causes for those identity uncertainty and social anomie. Modern society is not certain nor constant. Everything is uncertain and variable. Nevertheless, human beings attempt to be unified and to be balanced and think of and dream of cure and purification. Artists are probably those people who are in the front of cure and purification and would like to bring a matter to a peaceful settlement. It is human existence, speculation for being that art should put in its top priority. Topic, material and object this paper talks about will be mainly focused on human existence. By doing that, human beings' existence being exposed on material civilization will be uncovered through pictorial shapes under the name of the fine arts which will make up a will attracting cure and purification. In order to do that, the paper will be composed of four parts. Firstly, this paper talks about definition of existential philosophy, which is theoretical background of the author's works as well as the basis of modern art and framework for philosophical speculation and then the relationship between existence and the expression of human body that how the framework would turn into the basis of existence and theory in terms of paintings history will be identified. Secondly, as a closely related expressional matter of the author's works, "character drawing", "composite object" and "the organic operation of the character and object" will be studied as a specific methodology to find out how visual drawing would express the matter of existence in symbolic and metaphorical ways. Thirdly, contents side of the author's works is strengthened through "existence meaning of the modeling of the human body" and "view on visual drawing" shown on the author's works and as a basis of that, formal side of author's works such as color and configuration and expression method and selection of material will be identified with the study on existence through visual drawing, key topic of the paper. Finally, I'll show the paper has very valid reasons by analyzing my main eight works thoroughly in that visual drawing is a solution for existence expression, the relationship between existence and characteristics of paintings would be proved.
