This study notes that the understanding and interpretation of the public in various academic disciplines such as political science, economics, and philosophy are linked to Western modernity in the public discourse that has persisted in Korea since 2000. Max Weber (1864-1920) relied on insight into modern studies in modern conditions to discuss the common tendency and phenomenon of understanding and interpreting publicity at a relative dimension by denying the meaning of absolute and transcendence in the concept of publicity and paying attention to the fluidity between the boundaries of public and private. His insights helped the common denominator of opinions on publicity to be grasped in various areas of scholarship and academic disciplines. In recent years, Choi Tae-hyun's research achievements linking the concept of publicity and transcendence in the fields of law, public administration, and policy planning have become an important measure for critically reflecting on the limitations of existing publicity discourse. Choi Tae-hyun's perspective, which revealed the inner connection between the concepts of publicity, mind and transcendence for those in desperate situations who have lost their voices in the field of social dialogue and discussion, is in close proximity to Ham Seok-heon's "living together movement,” which interprets the state of absolute and transcendence of Christianity as inherent in the human mind. Ham Seok-heon emphasizes that the absoluteness of the mind inherent in each human being is the source of overcoming discrimination and exclusion. This study criticizes Kim Gun-woo's view that democratization of the Republic of Korea is only the achievement of the Christian right, while contrasting traditional religion with Ham Seok-heon's Christianity.
