In this paper, I try to find some positive meanings of leisure through the concept of enjoyment(jouissance) of Emmanuel Levinas. The enjoyment is the basic phase of our life which consists in a kind of ambiguity. We seek to satisfy our needs, however, we always depend upon the elements beyond our control. Genuine enjoyments, according to Levinas, could not be in a closed artificial system, but in a world open to the exteriority. This concept of enjoyment suggests that the positive leisure should not form a moment of the totalizing circle of ‘labour-consumption’. It should rather offer a room for the accordances with the outside and thereby for the changes of inside. The vitalizing relationship with the exteriority is the key point of the desirable leisures.
