디지털 환경에서의 예술 재료 개념에 관한 연구 = A Study on Art material in the Digital Environment

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The digital environment has changed the art material as electric and informative material. For many centuries, art material has been characterized as heterogeneous. Today, digital based material is incorporated in the form of the operative information. The act of producing the work by the use of the informative material is based on the algorithm. The different images made by the informative material as system of information represent certain point in the virtual continuous space based on the digital technology. The consequent artistic effects can be more effectively controlled and diversified by the artist in the digital environment. The unified environment offer the possibilities of different art creation which have not been imagined before. The digital world is an environment which offer and compel the important changes to the artists and an important source from which we can obtain the creative imagination and new idea. Therefore, this study shows an effort of examining the changes of the fundamental concept of art material and determining specific perspective of these changes in this environment.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

디지털 환경은 시각 예술의 재료들을 전자적이며 정보적인 것으로 변화시키고 있다. 이질적인 예술적 재료들로 특징 지워진 지난 수 세기들이 끝이 나고 디지털 기반 재료들은 하나의 통합된 조작적 정보의 형태로 통합된다. 이 정보 재료를 다루어 작품을 생산하는 일은 알고리즘 기반 행위이다. 조작적 정보들의 체계로서의 정보적 재료를 통해 만들어내는 서로 다른 이미지들은 디지털 기술에 기반한 가상적 연속 공간 내의 어느 지점들을 표현하며 이 지점들 사이의 왕래 발착을 통해 예술적 효과들은 좀 더 통제 가능한 수준으로 올라서고 또 다양함을 얻을 수 있게 된다. 정보가 통합될 수 있는 환경은 예술가에게 이전에는 상상하지 못했던 다른 예술 창조의 가능성들을 제공한다. 우리에게 친숙하고 일상생활의 일부가 되어있는 디지털 세계는 예술가들에게 중요한 변화를 제공하고 강요하는 환경이며 창조적 상상력과 새로운 생각을 그로부터 얻어낼 수 있는 중요한 토양이다. 그리하여 본고는 이러한 토양 위에서의 예술 재료의 근본적인 개념들의 변화를 성찰적으로 검토하고 특정한 전망을 결정하는 시도를 보여주고 있다.
