This study investigated the influence of nylon(NY) and cellulose(CL) fiber on the fundamental and mechanical properties of concrete. Test showed that increase of NY and CL fiber contents proportionally decreased concrete fluidity. It is found that concrete containing more than proper amounts of fiber should be reconsidered. Although adding higher ratio of fiber caused slightly increased air content, all specimens were satisfied in aimed value. In addition, using both NY and CL fiber resulted in higher value of bleeding capacity, and retardation of setting time. For the properties of strength, both compressive and tensile strength was indicated at similar value to control concrete. However, it is clear that if those concrete containing fiber revised the value of increased air contents at fresh state, the strength value of that would be slightly increased. Flexural strength of concrete containing NY fiber was indicated at higher value than CL fiber. Concrete adding 0.6㎏/㎥ of fiber highly reduced plastic shrinkage crack area and showed the most favorabie impact resistance performance.
