This article deals with how creation scientists have interpreted the Bible and what their problems are. First, briefly surveying theories of creationism and their beliefs in the perspective of a biblical scholar, it argues that they are based on the fundamentalism of the Bible, which has been rejected in mainline churches, including Presbyterian, Methodist, Roman Catholic, and Lutheran. For the detailed discussion, it deals with some important themes of biblical theology -- the worldview reflected in the Old Testament, biblical diversity, God``s supernaturality, and continuing creation. For the alternative views, it presents other models for the relationship between theology and science -- the independent model, the dialogue model, and the integrated model.
