성인의 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 성인애착과 자존감의 매개효과: 통합적 이론모델을 중심으로 = The Mediating Effects of Adult Attachment and Self-esteem on the Relationship between Childhood Abuse and Non-suicidal Self-injury Onset: Focused on the Integrated Theoretical Model

The present study aims to validate the mediating effects of adult attachment(attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance) and self-esteem in the relationship between childhood abuse and non-suicidal self-injury onset based on the risk factors of self-injury suggested by Nock(2009)’s integrated theoretical model. The study was conducted on 1,137 adults aged 20-59 in Korea, and the main results are as follows. First, attachment anxiety fully mediated the relationship between childhood abuse and non-suicidall self-injury onset. Second, the mediating effect of attachment anxiety in the relationship between childhood abuse and non-suicidal self-injury onset was not statistically significant. Third, self-esteem fully mediated the relationship between childhood abuse and non-suicidal self-injury onset. Fourth, the dual mediation effect of attachment anxiety and self-esteem in the relationship between childhood abuse and non-suicidal self-injury onset was significant. Fifth, the dual mediation effect of attachment avoidance and self-esteem in the relationship between childhood abuse and non-suicidal self-injury onset was confirmed. Results suggested that adult attachment and self-esteem is an important factor to consider in prevention and therapeutic intervention of non-suicidal self-injury onset. Based on the results, non-suicidal self-injury prevention and the intervention methods were discussed and the implications and limitations of these results were presented.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 Nock(2009)의 통합적이론모델에서 제시하는 자해의 위험요인을 기반으로 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 성인애착(애착불안, 애착회피)과 자존감의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구는 국내 만 20-59세의 성인 1,137명을 대상으로 진행되었으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 애착불안이 완전매개효과를 나타냈다. 둘째, 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 애착회피의 매개효과는 유의미하지 않았다. 셋째, 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 자존감은 완전매개효과를 보였다. 넷째, 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 애착불안과 자존감의 이중매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 아동기 학대와 비자살적 자해 발생의 관계에서 애착회피와 자존감의 이중매개효과가 나타났다. 이는 비자살적 자해의 예방 및 치료적 개입에 성인애착과 자존감이 중요하게 고려되어야 할 요인임을 시사한다. 연구결과를 토대로 비자살적 자해 예방 및 개입방안에 대해 논의하였으며, 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 제시하였다.
