Indeed, the flat-racing meetings of Le Vésinet and Maisons-Laffitte bid fair to assume in time an importance nearly equal to that of their prototypes of Longchamps and Chantilly; and it is questionable, on the whole, whether the interdiction passed against them has not been instrumental in their success. </AbsText>
