서울 도심 문화 유적의 경계(재정비)에 관한 연구 = The study on the boundaries(reorganization) of cultural relics in the center of Seoul

국문 초록 (Abstract)

서울의 중심부인 사대문 안에는 조선시대부터 내려오는 역사문화 유산이 밀집하여있는 장소이다. 이러한 소중한 도심 속 문화유산이 무분별한 도시 개발에 의해 사라져가고 있다. 또한 이전에 보지 못하던 이질적 요소들과의 접촉이 증가하면서 문화유산과 도심의 경계는 모호해지고 있다. 지역적 특성을 고려하지 않은 개발은 그 지역의 정체성을 훼손하고, 도시안에서 장소의 부족현상이 나타나며, 도시공간의 단절 또는 혼합이라는 문제를 야기 시킨다. 이 같은 문제점이 나타나게 된 원인은 대다수의 사람들이 도시적 접근 보다는 건물 위주의 가치관을 가지고 있고, 여러 가지 사업이 서울시와 정부 등 여러 부서에서 동시 다발적으로 추진되고 있기 때문이다. 돈화문로와 종묘 돌담은 조선시대부터 지금까지 그 자리를 지키고 있는 역사문화 유산이다. 종묘 돌담과 돈화문로 사이에는 물줄기를 중심으로‘촌’이 형성되어 있었다. 현재 이 지역은 물줄기는 사라지고, 건축물들의 고층화, 프로그램들의 다변화로 인해 그 지역의 정체성이 모호해졌다. 이로 인해 돈화문로의 인도 축에서 종묘 돌담 측을 바라보면 인식이 불가능하다. 또한, 지금의 돈화문로는 예전의 길의 역할에서 더욱 많은 역할을 수행하는 장소로 변화 하였다. 이로 인해 돈화문로의 경계로써의 힘은 더욱 커지고, 종묘 돌담과 돈화문로로 둘러 쌓여 있는 대지는 하나의 블록, 즉 한 영역이 형성된다. 영역의 형성으로 인하여 돌담에서부터 돈화문로 까지 경계는 더욱 두꺼워 졌고 강해 졌다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 지역적 특성을 고려하지 않는 개발로 인해 발생한 도심 속 경계에 대해 주목하고자 한다. 돈화문로와 종묘 돌담 사이의 종로3가 보석 세공소 밀집지역의 정체성 회복과 이 지역의 지역적 특성을 고려하지 않은 개발로 인해 두꺼워진 경계를 완화하는 요소들을 제안하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The plan to reorganize the boundaries of the concentration areas of Jewelry shops in Jongno 3-ga. The inner area of the four main gates of old Seoul is the place the historical and cultural relics handed down from the Joseon Dynasty are concentrated. These precious cultural relics in the center of the city are being disappeared by indiscreet urban development. And as they are increasingly contacting with different elements that cannot be seen before, the boundaries between cultural relics and the center of the city have blurred. The development which doesn't consider the regional characteristics damages the local areas' identity, shows the shortage of places in the city, and causes the problems of the severance or mixture of urban space. The cause of these problems are that a great many people have building-centered values rather than urban approach and the several departments in Seoul city and the government are simultaneously promoting several projects. Donhwamunno and stone walls of Jongmyo are historical cultural relics which has kept the places until now from the Joseon Dynasty. 'A village' was formed with the stream of water as the center between Donhwamunno and stone walls of Jongmyo. Now, the stream of the water disappeared in this area and its identity has blurred due to manhattanization of buildings and diversification of programs. When you look at the side of the stone walls of Jongmyo from the sidewalk of Donhwamunno due to them, it cannot be recognized. And the current Donhwamunno has been changed to the place to perform more roles from the previous role of the street. The power as the boundary of Donhwamunno gets bigger and the site surrounded by Donhwamunno and stone walls of Jongmyo forms a block, that is, a territory. The boundaries between the stone walls and Donhwamunno get thicker and stronger due to formation of the territory. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to try to notice the boundaries in the center of the cities that occur due to the development that doesn't consider the regional characteristics. The purpose is to restore identity of the concentration areas of Jewelry shops in Jongno 3-ga between Donhwamunno and stone walls of Jongmyo and suggest the elements which ease the boundaries that the two boundaries get closer due to the development which doesn't consider the regional characteristics of the areas.
