      본 논문은 인터랙티브 미디어와 모달리티 분석을 통해서 인터랙티브 모달리티의 분류 기준을 제안하고 수용자적 입장에서 그것을 비교 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우리는 웹 기반의 인터랙티브 다큐멘터리 <Still&All>(2016)을 분석함으로써 이 새로운 형식의 다큐멘터리가 기존의 전통적 다큐멘터리와는 어떻게 구별될 수 있는지, 또한 서사 구조의 차이는 무엇인지 설명하고 하였다. 또한 인터랙티브 다큐멘터리의 특징과 유형을 정리함으로써 향후의 심층적인 논의와 연구의 발전에 기초를 다지고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 인터랙티브 다큐멘터리 <Still&All>의 인터랙티브 모달리티의 분류 및 분석을 진행하고, 새로운 분류 기준 4가지를 제시했다. 또한 웹 기반의 배급과 새로운 방식으로의 창작과 수용이 이루어지는 과정을 수용자적 관점에서 비교 분석해봄으로써 새로운 수용자 패러다임에 대해 설명하고자 하였다.
      본 논문의 구성은 다음과 같다. Ⅰ장에서는 ‘인터랙티브 미디어’에 대한 개념과 정의를 중심으로 연구 배경 및 목적과 연구범위 및 방법을 설명하고, Ⅱ장에서는 인터랙티브 미디어의 개요와 인터랙티브 다큐멘터리의 다양한 유형을 정리하였다. 또한 인터랙티브 다큐멘터리에서 리얼리즘과 재현의 문제에 대해서도 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 원작과 인터랙티브 다큐멘터리의 서사 구조, 모달리티, 수용자 패러다임 등이 어떤 차이를 보이는지 비교 분석하고, 새로운 인터랙티브 모달리티 분류 기준을 제안하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 본 연구를 통해 도출된 결과를 정리하고, 앞서 제안한 인터랙티브 모달리티 분류 기준과 새로운 수용자론을 통해 향후 제작될 인터랙티브 미디어의 가능성과 한계에 대해 살펴보았다.

      The purpose of this paper is to propose a classification standard of interactive modality through interactive media and modality analysis, and to compare and analyze it from the audience standpoint. By analyzing the web-based interactive documentary <Still&All>(2015), we can see how this new type of documentary can be distinguished from traditional documentary, and what is the difference between its narrative structure and the characteristics of interactive documentary And types, so as to lay the foundations for future in-depth discussion and development of research. To do this, we conducted the classification and analysis of the interactive modality of the interactive documentary <Still&All>, and presented four new classification criteria. We also studied the new audience paradigm by analyzing the process of web-based distribution and creation and acceptance of new ways from the viewpoint of the audience.
      The composition of this paper is as follows. In Chapter Ⅰ, the necessity of updating the concept and terminology of 'interactive media' is explained. In Chapter Ⅱ, the outline of interactive media and the concept and types of interactive documentary are summarized. It gives a new perspective on the realism and reproduction of the documentary. In chapter Ⅲ, we compare the narrative structure, the modality and the audience paradigm of the original and the interactive documentary, and propose a new interactive modality
      classification standard. Finally, Section IV summarizes the results of this study and suggests possibilities and limitations of interactive media to be produced in the future through the proposed interactive modality classification criteria and new acceptance theory.
