The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of social support on the effects of personality factors on middle-aged crisis and happiness.

1. Is there any difference in personality factors, middle-aged crisis, happiness, and social support according to demographic characteristics?
2.Do personality factors, sense of crisis, happiness, and social support have an effect?
3.Does social support have a mediating effect on the relationship between personality factors and sense of crisis and happiness?
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of social support on the effects of personality factors on crisis and happiness in middle-aged adults(40-64 years old) living in Gyeonggi-do. The survey period was from July 1 to July 31, 2023, and 327 questionnaires were used as the final analysis data, excluding the missing values of unfaithful respondents for major variables among 351 questionnaires collected and collected over a month.

The results of this study are as follows: Hypothesis 1 was partially adopted that the personality factors of middle age would affect social support.
As a result of verifying the mediating effect of social support on the influence of personality factors on middle-aged crisis, first, the mediating effect of information support on the influence of personality factors on middle-aged crisis. It was confirmed that information support plays a mediating role in the relationship between neurosis and middle-aged crisis. Second, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of emotional support in the influence of personality factors on middle-aged crisis, it was confirmed that emotional support had no mediating effect in the relationship between personality factors and middle-aged crisis. Third, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of material support in the influence of personality factors on mid-life crisis, material support was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between neurosis, a sub-factor of personality factors, and mid-life crisis.
Fourth, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of evaluative support in the influence of personality factors on middle-aged crisis, evaluative support was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between neurosis and middle-aged crisis, which are sub-factors of personality factors, and between sincerity and middle-aged crisis. Therefore, Hypothesis 2 was partially adopted.As a result of verifying the mediating effect of social support in the influence of the personality factor of hypothesis 3 on happiness, it was found that informative support plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between neurosis, which is a sub-factor of personality factor, and happiness.
Second, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of emotional support in the effect of personality factors on happiness, it was not statistically significant in the relationship between personality factors and emotional support, so emotional support could not confirm the mediating effect in the relationship between personality factors and happiness. Third, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of material support in the effect of personality factors on happiness, material support was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between neurosis, a sub-factor of personality factors, and happiness. Fourth, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of evaluative support in the effect of personality factors on happiness, evaluative support was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between neurosis and happiness, which are sub-factors of personality factors, and between sincerity and happiness.

중년기의 성격 요인이 위기감과 행복감에 미치는 영향 - 사회적 지지의 매개효과 검증 - 최도순 복지서비스경영학과 협성대학교 대학원 본 연구는 성격 요인이 중년기 위기감과 행복감에 미치는 영향에 서 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 아래와 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 1. 인구학적 특성에 따라 성격 요인, 중년기 위기감, 행복감, 사회 적 지지의 정도에 차이가 있는가? 2. 성격 요인, 위기감, 행복감, 사회적 지지는 영향을 미치는가? 3. 성격 요인이 위기감과 행복감의 관계에서 사회적 지지가 매개 효과가 있는가? 본 연구는 중년기의 성격 요인이 위기감과 행복감에 미치는 영향 에 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 자료수집은 경기도 파 주시에 거주하는 중년기(40세~64세) 성인을 대상으로 하여 설문조사 의 목적과 내용을 충분하게 설명한 후 자기 보고식으로 측정하였다. 조사 기간은 2023년 7월 1일부터 7월 31일까지 한 달 동안 수집·회 수된 351부 자료 중 주요 변인에 대한 불성실한 응답자의 결측값을 제외하고 327부를 최종 분석 자료로 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 가설 1은 ‘중년기의 성격 요인은 사회적 지지에 영향을 미칠 것이다’는 부분 채택되었다. 가설 2는 성격 요인이 중년기 위기감에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 지지의 매개효과 검증에서 첫째, 성격 요인이 중년기 위기감에 미치 는 영향에서 정보적 지지의 매개효과를 확인한 결과 성격 요인 중 신경증과 중년기 위기감의 관계에서 정보적 지지는 매개 역할을 하 는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 성격 요인이 중년기 위기감에 미치는 영향에서 정서적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 성격 요인과 중년 기 위기감의 관계에서 정서적 지지는 매개효과가 없는 것으로 확인 되었다. 셋째, 성격 요인이 중년기 위기감에 미치는 영향에서 물질 적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 물질적 지지는 성격 요인 하위 요인인 신경증과 중년기 위기감의 관계에서 부분 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 성격 요인이 중년기 위기감에 미치는 영 향에서 평가적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 평가적 지지는 성격 요인 하위요인인 신경증과 중년기 위기감의 관계와 성실성과 중년 기 위기감의 관계에서 부분 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 가설2는 부분 채택되었다. 가설 3의 성격 요인이 행복감에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 성격 요인 하위요인인 신경증과 행복감과 의 관계에서 정보적 지지는 부분 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났 다. 둘째, 성격 요인이 행복감에 미치는 영향에서 정서적 지지의 매 개효과를 검증한 결과 성격 요인과 정서적 지지의 관계에서 통계적 으로 유의미하지 않았기 때문에 성격 요인과 행복감의 관계에서 정 서적 지지는 매개효과를 확인할 수가 없었다. 셋째, 성격 요인이 행 복감에 미치는 영향에서 물질적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 성 격 요인 하위요인인 신경증과 행복감과의 관계에서 물질적 지지는 부분 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 성격 요인이 행복감 에 미치는 영향에서 평가적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 평가적 지지는 성격 요인 하위요인인 신경증과 행복감과의 관계와 성실성 과 행복감과의 관계에서 부분 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구의 가설 3은 부분 채택되었다.
