가야금 분석을 통한 가상악기 연구 : 25현가야금을 중심으로 = Research on virtual musical instruments through analyzing Gayageum: Centering 25-Stringed Gayageum

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문에서는 한국악기를 재료로 사용하여 음악을 제작하는 이들에게 가야금의 구조와 특성 및 조율방법을 밝히고 음향 분석을 통해 가상악기화하여 활용하는데 목적이 있다. 가야금에는 전통적 12현의 형태인 신라금, 법금, 산조가야금이 있으며 개량된 순서로 13현, 15현, 17현, 18현, 19현, 20현, 21현, 22현, 25현가야금이 있다. 이 여러대의 특성 가야금 중에 현재 활용빈도성이 가장 높은 25현가야금을 본 논문의 연구과제의 가상악기 재료로 선택하였다. 25현가야금은 다수 대학의 국악관련학과에 정규 커리큘럼으로 포함되어 교육측면적인 방면에 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있으며 또한 전통가야금에 비해 평균율에 근거한 7음계의 조율체계를 가지고 현재 작곡자들과 연주자들의 활발한 활동이 이루어지고 있기에 25현가야금을 선택하여 연구하게 되었다.
본 논문에서는 25현가야금을 활용하는 연주자들에 음의 배열 활용도를 통한 음원 매핑에 충실하였으며 음원의 Band Pressure Level을 정리하고 Envelope와 Harmonic을 분석하여 가상악기화 하였다.
마지막으로 전통음악적 시김새(연주기법)를 정리하여 그 활용에 중점을 두었으며 시퀀서 프로그램상의 활용방안을 제시하였다. 연주기법으로는 가야금 연주시 활용성이 높은 추성, 퇴성, 전성(굴림), 막는음, 다루, 농현, 꺽는음의 7가지에 대한 설명과 이 연주기법이 사용된 예시 자료도 제시하여 제작자가 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This Research is aimed at showing music producers the structure and features of a Gayageum and ways to tune it using Korean musical instruments, and utilizing the Gayageum by making it a virtual instrument through an analysis of sound. There are many kinds of Gayageum. Sillageum, Beopgeum and Sanjogayageum which are traditional form of the Gayageum have 12 strings and there also are improved versions of Gayageum with 13, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 25 strings, respectively. For this research, a 25-stringed Gayageum which is being used most frequently has been chosen. As the 25-stringed Gayageum has been included in their regular curriculum and has joined the Korean traditional orchestra in a large number of colleges, it has occupied an important position in terms of education. In addition, the 25-stringed Gayageum has a seven-note tuning system based on the equal temperament compared with Beopgeum and Sanjogayageum which are traditional versions with a five-note tuning system, so many composers and performers are actively using it. For this reason, the 25-stringed Gayageum was selected for this research.
Therefore, this study is faithful for mapping a sound source through the level of usage of the sound arrangement of performers utilizing the 25-stringed Gayageum, the band pressure level of the sound source was arranged and the envelope and harmonic were analyzed by using the instrument as a virtual one.
Finally traditional musical performing techniques were arranged centering its use and ways to utilize it on sequencing programs were suggested. This research explains about performing techniques regarding seven sounds, including "Chuseong," "Toeseong," "Jeonseong,'' "Daru" and "Nonghyeong," which are being frequently used while playing a Gayageum. Cases in which the seven playing techniques are used were illustrated to help producers utilize them.
