This paper presents the effectiveness of shadowing technique for enhancing L2 listening and the general perception of Korean middle school students on the technique. The study was conducted through two experimental groups?listening only (LO) and shadowing and listening (SL)?and a questionnaire survey of 58 middle school students. As a result, shadowing technique was shown to be effective by the effects of attention through noticing, increased awareness of suprasegmental features, and the participants were shown to have positive attitude toward the technique in respect of perception, anxiety, and preference, which were the affective factors that might have contributed to enhancing listening ability. The overall result of the study reaffirmed previous studies of Chung (2010) and Kim (2008) with suggestions of several important issues regarding what should be seriously considered for improvement in English language teaching.
