In recent years, increasing attention has been paid on how to build a successful partnership between the customer and supplier of the outsourcing services on the PMS in hotel industry. This study explores the sources of influence for critical successful outsourcing partnership. Based on the Henderson`s IS partnership model, we (1) propose a causal model of outsourcing critical success factor where trust, commitment and benefit/risk share are introduced as intervening variables (2) test this model using a sample of 225 employees that have outsourced their IS functions to external service providers and (3) compare our proposed model with a alternative model that does not consider such intervening effect. Findings indicate that the proposed model is superior to the alternative model in assessing the relationship between partnership and outsourcing critical success. Most of the hypothesized relationships were also found to be significant.
