In recent years, APD (Auditory Processing Disorders) has become a hot topic. APD is not hearing impaired of the hearing threshold. It is difficulties of hearing someone's speech under the noise, identifying the speech sounds, and recognition with some special situations. In these researches, we developed the Gap Detection Task(GDT) for children that were used on regular classroom of the elementary school. We found that there is a significant difference in comparison with the adult children under the elementary school. On the other hand, there isn't any significant correlation found in the age and the threshold of GDT. And we compared Japanese students and Japanese learner students using a geminate consonant in Japanese, we observed the improvement of geminate consonant discrimination ability and improvement the threshold of GDT. Finally we examined stumbling on learning attitude using “screening test to discover stumbling educational” (SIFTER: Screening Instrument for Targeting Educational Risk) and GDT, the Competing Word Test and the Auditory Figure & Ground Test. We found a significant difference was observed in the norm and ADHD & LD group under the Competing Word Test . Conventionally, for unilateral hearing loss children’s, CROS hearing aids have been used. Unilateral hearing loss(Single Sided Deafness) children feel the handicap to hear under the noise and locate the sound source. However the CROS hearing wasn't used widely, because of its cost and botheration to wear each units on each ears. We have developed a new CROS hearing aids by using RIC hearing aid connected with extended wired receiver. In this paper, we describe the structure, adaptation, adjustment and evaluation of this new EHIME(Extended Hearing Instrument for Mono-hearing Ear).
