민간 항공기 객실 실내디자인에 관한 연구 = 국내 항공사의 에어버스 A380기종 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내 항공사들이 도입하여 운용 중에 있는 최첨단 항공기 에어버스 A380 항공기의 객실디자인 사례를 중심으로 아직 국내 디자인계에는 생소한 분야인객실 디자인에 관한 연구를 통해 향후 학계를 포함한국내 디자인계에 새로운 도전 분야에 대한 접근에 필요한 이론적 자료를 제공하고자 연구 되어졌다. 연구의 범위는 국내 대표 항공사인 대한항공과 아시아나항공사가 도입 운용 중에 있는 에어버스사의A380항공기에 대한 고찰과 더불어 두 항공사의 A380항공기 객실디자인 사례분석을 통해 항공기 객실디자인에 대한 정의, 객실디자이너의 역할과 책임, 디자인프로세스 그리고 항공기 객실디자인이 항공사별 여객수요 확보를 위한 차별화된 경쟁력 확보에 직접적으로 끼치는 영향과 함께 구체적인 디자인적 요소들에 대해 논하며 결론에 이르고 있다.연구의 방법은 인터넷을 이용한 국내외 D/B 및 네트워크 검색, 논문과 단행본을 포함한 도서·출판물 등문헌조사를 통한 고찰 및 분석이 중심이 되었다.연구내용과 결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 국내 항공사들이 겪고 있는 여객수요 확보를 위한 경쟁이 국내외를 막론하고 날로 치열해짐에 따라 경쟁력 확보를 위한 첨단 항공기 도입과 아울러고객에게 고품격 서비스 제공을 위한 객실디자인에 심혈을 기울이고 있으나 아직까지 국내에 객실디자인전문가를 양성하는 교육기관 및 전문회사가 없어 해외 디자인 전문회사에 의존하고 있는 관계로 막대한국부 손실이 이어지고 있음을 확인 할 수 있었다.둘째, 성공적인 객실디자인 작업을 수행하기 위해서는 디자이너의 창의력뿐만 아니라 항공기의 안전과 작업의 높은 완성도를 위해 기계, 전기, 전자분야의 엔지니어들의 기술적인 지원이 필수적이며 따라서 디자이너의 역할 과 엔지니어의 역할 분석을 통해 시각적, 기능적으로 차별화되고 안정성 높은 객실디자인작업 프로세스를 확인 할 수 있었다.셋째, 대한항공과 아시아나 항공의 A380 항공기 객실디자인 사례 분석을 통해 객실디자인이 여객수요확보를 위한 차별화된 경쟁력 확보에 직접적으로 끼치는 영향과 함께 구체적인 디자인적 요소들에 대한간접적인 경험을 통해 이론적인 자료로 정리 할 수 있었다.이와 같은 고찰과 분석 내용을 바탕으로 본 연구는 국내 디자인 학계 및 산업계에 아직 국내 디자인계에는 생소하지만 그러나 막대한 수익 창출이 예상되는 항공기 객실디자인 분야에 대한 적극적인 참여와 연구의 필요성을 제기하였으며, 객실디자인 분야 참여에 의한 디자인 영역의 확대와 그에 따른 기대효과와 함께 현재 디자인학계가 겪고 있는 디자인교육의 특성화에 대한 출구를 위한 토대를 마련하였다.본 연구가 국내 디자인 학계 및 산업계에 새로운 디자인 분야에 대한 관심을 유발시키며 이를 위한 다양한 프로그램이 개발되는데 이론적 분석 자료로 활용되어지기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research is to study aircraft interior designwhich is still unfamiliar area for our design industrywith a focus on the high-tech aircraft Airbus A380,which is introduced and utilized by local airlinecompanies. This research can provide theoreticalinformation to approach the new challenge of our designindustry as well as academic field.Korea’s representative airline companies which areKorean Air and Asiana Air were selected for thisresearch and study on A380 aircraft as well as caseanalysis on its interior design were conducted. Resultsof this research were revealed thru analyzing concretedesign factors in addition to addressing the directfactors that affect to maintain distinctivecompetitiveness for attracting passengers for eachairline company such as definition of aircraft interiordesign, roles and responsibilities of designers, designprocess and aircraft design.The research was mainly conducted by nationaland international database search and network researchthru internet, studying publications including thesis andbooks.The results are shown as below.Firstly, airline companies are making a lot ofefforts to provide high quality service to customers inaddition to introducing high-tech aircraft to maintaincompetitiveness as the competition to win passengersis getting strong. However, they are losing a lot offinancial resources to abroad because of the fact thatthey are highly rely on international design companiesdue to the lack of professional design companies andeducational organizations in Korea.Secondly, it is absolutely required to have atechnical support of engineers from machinery, electricand electronic fields to maintain aircraft safety and highdegree of completion. Therefore, aircraft interior designprocess with high stability can be differentiated byvisual and functional thru role andresponsibilityanalysis of designers and engineers.Thirdly, theoretical information of attractingpassengers by aircraft interior design could beorganized thru case analysis on the indirect experiencesof concrete design factors along with direct factors thataffect to maintain distinctive competitiveness.Based on above research and its outcome, thenecessity of active participation and study in aircraftinterior design field is suggested to generate highvolume of revenue even though it is not familiar to ourdesign academic field or design industry. Also thisresearch could provide the opportunity to considerexpanding design field and its expected effect as wellas specializing design education field.It is hoped that this research can be utilized as atheoretical data for attracting interests of local designacademic field and design industry in the new designarea and developing various programs for it.
