학문 목적 한국어 학습자의 발표 수행 양상 분석 연구 = Analysis of Presentation Performance Aspects of Korean Learners for Academic Purposes

국문 초록 (Abstract)

국내에 입국한 학문 목적 학습자들이 성공적으로 학업을 수행하는 데 필요한 학업능력과 요구가 점차 다양해지고 있다. 학문 목적 학습자의 학업 수행 능력에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 관련 분야의 연구와 교육도 활발해지는 추세이다. 학문 목적 학습자의 교육이 중요해지면서 많은 한국어 교육기관이 일반 목적 중심의 교육에서 학문 목적 중심의 교육으로 바뀌고 있다. 학문 목적의 외국인 학습자들이 한국의 대학이나 대학원에 진학하여 학업을 수행할 때 학문 공동체 일원으로서 청중을 대상으로 지식과 정보를 전달하는 과정인 발표하기는 학습자에게 중요한 과업인 동시에 가장 어려워하는 과업 중 하나이다. 학문 목적 학습자가 성공적으로 대학과 대학원 생활에 적응하고 교육과정을 수료하기 위해 학문 목적 발표에 대한 이해와 교육이 필요하다.
본 연구는 학문 목적 발표의 개념과 특성을 정의하고 학문 목적 발표가 한국어 교육에서 가지는 위치와 실제성을 확인하여, 학문 목적 발표의 구조와 구성 요소를 제시하고 제시한 구성 요소를 기준으로 학문 목적 발표를 범주화하여 정리하고자 한다. 발표 수행의 실제를 분석하기 위해 국내 대학에 재학 중인 학문 목적 외국인 학습자 30명의 발표 수행 영상을 수집하여 한국어 교육 경험이 있는 한국어 강사 3인을 통해 발표 수행에 대해 평가하도록 하였다. 한국어 강사 3인의 평가 결과와 선행 연구를 통해 도출한 학문 목적 발표 틀을 종합하여 분석함으로써 학습자가 발표를 수행할 때 나타나는 유의미한 요소를 ‘내용구성적 측면’과 ‘언어적 측면’, ‘전달적 측면’과 ‘상호작용적 측면’으로 구분하고 범주별 내용에 대해 분석·기술하고자 한다.
본 연구에서 도출되는 시사점을 통해 학문 목적 학습자가 발표라는 장르를 이해하고 성공적으로 발표라는 과업을 수행하는 데 도움이 될 것이라 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to analyze the aspects of the presentations of learners of the Korean language for academic purposes. Academic abilities and requirements needed for successful performance of studies by learners for academic purpose, who came to Korea, become gradually more diverse. As needs and interests for abilities of academic performance of learners for academic purpose increase, research and education in related fields tend to become active. As education for learners for academic purposes becomes important, many Korean language education institutions shift from general purpose-focused education to academic purpose-focused education. When foreign learners study for academic purpose at a university or graduate school in Korea, ‘presentation,’ the process of presenting knowledge and information to the audience as the members of an academic community, is an important academic ability for learners and one of the academic abilities they find difficult and burdening. An understanding and education of presentation for academic purposes would be needed so that learners for academic purposes can successfully adapt themselves to their university and graduate school lives and complete courses in their major studies. This study would define the concept and characteristics of presentation for academic purposes, check the location and reality of presentation for academic purposes in Korean language education and sort out the structure and components of presentation. To analyze the reality of the presentation performance, this study collected videos of presentations performed by 30 foreign learners for academic purposes enrolled in a domestic university and had three Korean language instructors who had Korean language education experience evaluate the performance of their presentations. This study would classify the significant elements that appeared when learners performed presentations into ‘content composition aspect,’ ‘linguistic aspect’, ‘communicative aspect’ and ‘interactive aspect’ by comprehensively analyzing the framework of presentation for academic purpose drawn through the results of the evaluation of the three Korean language instructors and previous studies and would analyze and state contents by category. The implications derived from this study would help understand learners for academic purposes understand the genre of presentation and successfully perform the task of presentation.
