Various monomers (Acrylonitrile, Vinyl acetate, Methyl methacrylate, Styrene) have been grafted onto cellulose pulps. Physical properties of the grafted pulps have heen studied and the results are: 1) increasing amount of water added to the pulp led to an increase in grafting yield, although above 30% water no further increase. 2) Increasing amount of grafted to the pulp A) led to an increase in diameter of fiber. B) led to a decrease in water sorption of the fiber. C) led to a decrease in density of the fiber. D) led to a decrease in the strength of single fiber. E) led to a decrease in beatability of the fiber.
