한국의 국어 수업 문화에 대한 두가지 시선 : H교사의 수업을 중심으로 = A study on the class culture in Korean elementary schools

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Purpose of this study is to survey the characteristics of Korean class culture and to gain insights on in what direction we may have to improve the teaching practice in Korea. In order to survey the Korean class culture, we decided to look into a class and find any instructional event or situation. From the event or situation, we tried to deduce the fundamental class culture. This study was a new attempt to examine the characteristics of Korean class culture. Studying how a Korean class is viewed by foreigners provided us with a chance to reflect on the teaching practice in Korea. Though the foreigners in this study had elementary education in their countries, they were very young at the time and teaching culture may have been changed since. If the same study was done with in-service elementary school teachers in other countries, more discussion on the lesson itself would have been possible. This has to be left for a future study.
