DEA기법을 이용한 광고회사의 효율성 분석에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Efficiency Analysis of Advertising Companies Using Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 DEA기법에 의하여 우리나라 39개 광고회사의 효율성을 기술, 순수기술, 규모 효율성으로 분리하여 측정하였다. DEA의 투입요소로는 직원수, 고정자산, 매출원가를 사용하였고, 산출물은 매출로 하였다. DEA의 결과에 의하면 광고회사의 비효율성의 주된 원인은 규모의 비효율성보다는 순수기술의 비효율성 때문임을 확인하였다. 그리고 6개 광고회사가 CRS, 10개 회사가 IRS, 23개 회사가 DRS에 있으며, IRS에 있는 회사들 중에서 2개 DMU와 DRS에 있는 회사 중에서 5개 DMU는 VRS 가정 하에서 효율적이다. 나머지 18개 회사는 DRS의 상태에서 비효율적이므로 투입요소의 감축을 고려해야 한다. 그러나 IRS의 상태에 있는 DMU들은 투입요소의 감축보다는 투입요소를 증가시킴으로써 효율성을 증가시킬 수 있는 지를 검토해야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to estimate the technical, pure technical, scale efficiency of 39 advertising companies by data envelopment analysis(DEA). The result shows that pure technical efficiency is a main source of inefficiency rather than the scale efficiency. Average pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency are 0.8123 and 0.8915, respectively. 10 DMUs are operating under conditions of increasing return to scale, while 23 DMUs are operating under conditions of decreasing return to scale. DMUs with increasing returning to scale is desirable to increase their inputs for more outputs. 5 out of 23 DMUs are efficient under VRS assumption. This fact indicates that 18 DMUs may be required to reduce their inputs if greater efficiency is to be attained.
Data envelopment analysis is a linear programming based method for assessing the performance of homogeneous organizational units and is increasingly being used in business area. Studies are mostly centered in deriving a summary measure of the efficiency of each DMU, on estimating targets of performance for DMU, and on identifying benchmarking units of good operating practice.
