Alberto Ginastera(1916-1983), a representative of Argentine composers of the 20th century, achieved his own unique style by combining the folk music elements of Argentina with modern composing technique.
The purpose of this study, a research and analysis of <Danzas Argentinas Op. 2>is to understand his musical characteristics properly and to assist with performance a based on academic theory.
First, from theoretical point of view researched Argentine folk music, Ginastera's life, work style and the background of composing this work. I analyzed his composing style in four features - form, melody, harmony, and rhythm. This paper also suggests points to pay attention when performing. The resulty my study is as follows:
Composed of three dance music, the work consists of three forms: small rondo form, three-piece form and two-piece form.
Regarding melody and harmony, a pentatonic scale and a half scale are utilized for melody and bitonality, polytonality, tritone, and guitar code consisting of an open string sound(E-A-D-G-B) are used.
Ginastera uses folksy rhythm-Zamba and Malambo.
<Danzas Argentinas Op. 2>is one of the works that integrate the modern composing techniques with Argentina's folk music elements, and it is a useful work to understand his other works.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

20세기 아르헨티나를 대표하는 작곡가인 알베르토 히나스테라(Alberto Ginastera: 1916-1983)는 아르헨티나 음악의 민속요소들을 현대적인 작곡기법과 조화시켜 독창적인 작품세계를 표현하였다.
이 논문은 1937년에 작곡된 <Danzas Argentinas Op. 2>를 분석 연구한 것으로서 그의 음악적 특징들을 올바르게 이해하고 이를 토대로 하여 학문적 바탕이 있는 연주를 하도록 돕는데 그 목적이 있다.
먼저 이론적 배경으로 아르헨티나의 민속음악과 히나스테라의 생애 및 작품양식 그리고 작곡배경을 알아보고 형식, 선율 및 화성, 리듬 등의 면에서 분석하였으며 연주상의 유의점을 제시함으로써 보다 충실한 연주를 하는데 도움이 되고자 하였다. 연구한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
3개의 춤곡으로 구성되어 있는 이 작품은 형식은 작은 론도형식과 3부분 형식, 2부분 형식을 취하고 있다.
선율 및 화성에서 선율은 5음음계와 반음계가 사용되었으며 화성은 복조성, 다조성, 3온음, 기타의 개방현이 내는 음(E-A-D-G-B)들로 이루어진 기타코드(giutar chord) 등이 사용되었다.
리듬은 춤곡인 잠바(Zamba)와 말람보(Malambo)의 민속적인 리듬을 사용하였다.
이상과 같이 <Danzas Argentinas Op. 2>는 아르헨티나의 전통적 요소위에 현대적인 기법을 접목시킨 작품 중 하나로서 그의 다른 음악을 이해하는데도 도움이 될 만한 작품이다.
